Celine Dion Voted American’s Number One Musician By The Harris Poll

9 May

THE following news may alarm you, but the reality is that this is the view of Americans. I wonder where and when this poll was taken. I also wonder who it was given too? To say the reults are alarming is an understatment. Honestly, I have no clue how they got these reults. I am not say that Bruce should be in the top ten, but Lady GaGa and four country musicians? I actually worked for the Harris Poll back in 1980 and always felt they were not skewed in any way. Always had a nice cross section of demographics. I am not sure this poll was created in a similiar way. I would also love to see the actual poll they offered to the 2300 plus people. A poll from Harris Interactive asked people for their favourite musical performer – The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, even perhaps The Boss himself, Bruce Springsteen, would spring to mind perhaps.

But no, America’s number one favourite singer of all of them in the history of music is …Celine Dion.

The poll of 2320 American adults – obviously stuck in the nineties – conducted from March 1 to March 8, recorded the following:

America’s favourite musicians, according to the Harris poll:
1. Celine Dion
2. U2
3. Elvis Presley
3. The Beatles
5. Tim McGraw
6. Lady Gaga
7. George Strait
8. Rascal Flatts
9. Alan Jackson
9. Frank Sinatra
